Otter Estuary Discovery Day

Join the Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust for a full day of exploration, walks and wildlife discovery, celebrating the wonderful natural environment of the Otter Estuary.

Visit The Holt throughout the day for refreshments, pick up an Otter Estuary Family Discovery Trail for younger visitors, and discover more about the wildlife and habitats of the estuary.

Meet naturalist Andy Swash and explore his WildGuides, discover and have a go at wildlife embroidery with the South Devon Stitchers, and enjoy a photographic display celebrating the wildlife and landscapes of the estuary.

With walks, activities, displays and plenty of opportunities to discover something new, there’s something for everyone.

The Holt Bar and Terrace will be open all day, serving food and hot and cold drinks, so why not make a day of it?

Come along, explore, learn and celebrate this special place with your local community.

Please note there are no toilet facilities on site on the Otter Estuary. The nearest facilities and refreshments are based at Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club.

Dogs on leads welcome.

Dress for the weather, sturdy footwear recommended, if you are planning on going for a walk on the estuary.

You’ll have a chance to immerse yourself in invigorating guided walks that take you through the heart of the estuary, enlightening sessions that share captivating tales of the area’s past, and a variety of fun-filled activities suitable for visitors of all ages.
