If you are driving to the Otter Estuary please park in South Farm Road Car Park to minimise road traffic – winter car parking charges apply at £2 for the day. Revenue from the car park is pumped straight back into caring for the Otter Estuary and allows us to continue providing events like this for free.

Know before you go…

This activity is suitable for all ages – under 18’s are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

Please bring a drink, clothes/footwear to work in and suitable for the weather and any gloves if you have them. Tools will be provided.

Assistance dogs only.

Please note there are no toilet facilities on site. The nearest facilities and refreshments are based at Budleigh beach or Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club.

This event is organised as part of Wetland Weekender 2026. Come together on the Otter Estuary to explore and connect with nature, and celebrate the start of the autumn migration season. You’ll have a chance to immerse yourself in invigorating guided walks that take you through the heart of the estuary, enlightening sessions that share captivating tales of the area’s past, and a variety of fun-filled activities suitable for visitors of all ages. What’s even better? All these activities are completely FREE!
