A hugely popular activities week celebrating the wildlife, history and landscape of East Devon’s Pebblebed Heaths National Nature Reserve, is to go ahead this month from Saturday 23rd July until Saturday 30th July.
Heath Week is led by the organisations that take care of the nature reserve and welcome visitors to enjoy, understand and respect countryside areas; the Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust, Clinton Devon Estates, Devon Wildlife Trust and RSPB.
The Pebblebed Heaths is one of Europe’s rarest habitats and visitors can join self-led and bookable events throughout the week. They include guided walks, specialist talks, a virtual bat walk, pond dipping, orienteering, tai chi and ‘waggy walks’ for dogs. This year the week will kick off with a special outdoor theatre show of Alice in Wonderland from the Common Players.
Many activities are free or by donation, and for some events there will be a small cost.
