A Dog’s Day on the Heath

Join us for a tail-wagging day of fun on the Pebblebed Heaths! Hosted by Devon Loves Dogs and the Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust as part of Heath week, this event is all about your dog’s happiness and wellbeing, whilst celebrating our stunning heathland!

Enhance your dog walk and pop by with your furry friend for an interactive experience packed with engaging stalls, games, workshops, talks and live displays. From discovering exciting dog sports and enrichment activities to learning how to support your dogs physical and mental wellbeing, everything is thoughtfully designed with your dogs enjoyment at heart.

Take part in our short guided walks with our rangers to explore the stunning heaths, learn about the wildlife and history, and find out how you and your dog can help protect this special place.

• Parking: All regular carparks (Model Airfield, Four Firs, Woodbury Castle and Estuary View) will be open for the event plus overflow options (Uphams car park) and there will be way-marked routes to get you to and from the event site. Parking for less mobile individuals is possible at Model Airfield car park. Otherwise, attendees should be prepared to walk on heathland paths from other car parks nearby (between 0.5-1.5 km walk each way). Parking will be busy so please consider car sharing where possible and please do not park on the road or in passing places.

Know before you go…

You will need poo bags and a lead for a your dog/s, all dogs must remain on lead around the event area.

This event has been designed for you to enjoy with or without your dog. Some dogs love an exciting day out with lots of new sniffs. But if your dog is happier at home, come and join the activities, check out the stalls and demonstrations, you can always take them home a treat instead!

Toilet facilities and limited refreshments will be available at Model Airfield for this event.

This event is organised as part of Heath Week 2026. Heath Week celebrates our heathland heritage with a week of events reflecting the ecology, history and recreational importance of the Pebblebed Heaths National Nature Reserve.
