DESCRIPTION:Otter Estuary Ranger Walk \nLeisurely walk around the footpaths of the Otter Estuary Nature Reserve with stops to take in the sights and sounds of the reserve. Learn about the wildlife that uses the estuary and what you can expect to see from month to month. \nFollowing the completion of the Lower Otter Restoration Project\, 55ha of new saltmarsh and mudflat is developing in the estuary. Find out more about the project and how the site is evolving with the ebb and flow of the tide. \nThis event is FREE but booking is required\, click here to book. \n  \nEvent Details: \nDate: Saturday 15th November 2025 \nTime: 9:30-12:00 \nLocation: South Farm Road Car Park\nW3W: yummy.energy.tasks\nGrid Reference: SY 07030 82957 \nIf you are driving to the Otter Estuary please park in South Farm Road Car Park to minimise road traffic – car parking charges apply. Revenue from the car park is pumped straight back into caring for the Otter Estuary and allows us to continue providing events like this for free. \n  \nKnow before you go… \nThe walk will last approximately 2.5 hours and will be at a gentle pace following flat gravelled paths for around 4km. There will be regular stops along the route at viewing areas with benches. Much of the reserve is accessible for mobility scooters\, please contact us if you would like to discuss access. \nPlease note there are no toilet facilities on site. Travel to and from the outdoor session will be in your own vehicle and is only a 5 minute drive. During the outdoor session\, we will set-up a mobile changing space for those that may need it. \nFree car parking that is step-free is accessible throughout the day. \nIf you wish to discuss on-site accessibility please contact savannah.brownlow@clintondevon.com \nIf you would like to attend this event but transport to the venue is a barrier for you\, please contact savannah.brownlow@clintondevon.com as we have a travel bursary available as part of the Pebblebeds For All project. \n  \nFor your knowledge and comfort… \nTo support breast feeding mums\, a separate private room is available to breast feed your baby and have a quieter space to anyone to feels they need it at any point during the day. \nFor mums using formula\, there will be access to boiling water but if you need any other support feeding your baby on the day\, please contact savannah.brownlow@clintondevon.com to discuss ways in which we can support you. \nComfortable seating is available throughout the day and during the indoor session and for feeding babies. \nDuring the outdoor session\, we will be on the heaths on uneven ground but in areas that have wide grassed paths. The area is unsuitable for normal buggies/pushchairs and more suitable to off-road buggies/pushchairs but we encourage mums to wear slings/baby carriers where possible. \nThere is space to store your prams and car seats inside safely. \nThere will be no loud music or noise during the indoor sessions. \nThere will be a member of staff who is Paediatric First Aid trained present on the day. \nThere will be staff available on the day to support you in anyway possible\, this event will be a calm\, friendly\, low-pressure environment and you will be surrounded by other mums in the same position as you\, who know exactly how you are feeling. We know it can take extra time to get out with a little one\, so please take the time you need and feel free to step out as needed. The Dartmoor Curlew Recovery Project 2021 – 2025 was set up to address this continued decline and avoid extinction. \nOver the past five years the project has increased monitoring\,  implemented landscape scale habitat improvement and gathered information of predator activity near Curlews. In addition\, young Curlew have been reared and released annually by a new initiative called headstarting\, developed and delivered by WWT staff from Slimbridge. DESCRIPTION:Otter Estuary Ranger Walk \nLeisurely walk around the footpaths of the Otter Estuary Nature Reserve with stops to take in the sights and sounds of the reserve. Learn about the wildlife that uses the estuary and what you can expect to see from month to month. \nFollowing the completion of the Lower Otter Restoration Project\, 55ha of new saltmarsh and mudflat is developing in the estuary. Find out more about the project and how the site is evolving with the ebb and flow of the tide. \nThis event is free but booking is essential\, to book click here. \nFor more information about the Otter Estuary click here. \n  \nLocation \nSouth Farm Road Car Park\nW3W: lunged.shame.shops\nGrid Reference: SY 07042 82954 \nIf you are driving to the Otter Estuary please park in South Farm Road Car Park to minimise road traffic – car parking charges apply. Revenue from the car park is pumped straight back into caring for the Otter Estuary and allows us to continue providing events like this for free. \n  \nAccessibility \nThe walk will last approximately 2.5 hours and will be at a gentle pace following flat gravelled paths for around 4km. There will be regular stops along the route at viewing areas with benches. Much of the reserve is accessible for mobility scooters\, please contact us if you would like to discuss access. \nPlease note there are no toilet facilities on site.
