DESCRIPTION:Botany Walk \nThe breaching of the flood embankment near Budleigh Salterton in October 2023 marked the completion of the Lower Otter Restoration Project.  With the breach completed\, tidal waters returned to the lower Otter valley for the first time in over 200 years. Since then the vegetation has been evolving rapidly with freshwater habitats and plant species declining in extent and salt tolerant plants characteristic of saltmarsh and mudflat beginning to establish.
