Although not the largest of the eight commons that together comprise the Pebblebed Heaths NNR, Bicton common is one of the most exciting to explore. Its breath-taking views and rich variety of habitats are crammed into little over 100 hectares. Forged by the commoners of old and framed within a landscape area designed by the Georgians there is an ecological or archaeological surprise at every turn.

Join Dr Sam Bridgewater, Head of Wildlife and Conservation for Clinton Devon Estates on a ramble to explore the site’s ecological and cultural highlights. The walk will be around three kilometres in length and on rugged paths with some steep slopes. Please bring stout shoes.
