Practical Volunteering with the Pebblebed Heath Conservation Trust

Volunteers are welcome to join our fortnightly work parties on the Pebblebed Heaths or Otter Estuary. Help our rangers undertake practical conservation tasks such as scrub clearance, habitat creation and invasive species control. Tasks and locations vary week to week and you’ll get to know your way around the commons and surrounding areas well, whilst being active and giving something back to these special sites for wildlife and people.

  • Whether retired, a student or working, all ages most welcome.
  • We meet at 0930 and rarely work beyond 1430 but you can leave at lunch time if that suits you better.
  • Tools and cake or biscuits provided. Gloves too, although most folk prefer to wear their own.
  • Please wear appropriate clothing/footwear for the task.
  • Opportunities to undertake training and other volunteer roles such as species monitoring or education and engagement.
